Cookie Monster heaven

Look what I found when returning to school this morning.  Yes, it is that time of year again. Girl Scout cookie order season! Our SSES parents have been busy  sorting out the order for our school’s troupe and are using my  back room for  storage.

I always have great admiration for our girls who sell  Girl Scout cookies.  It brings back recollections  of my youth, selling Girl Guide cookies ( in Canada we use the term Girl Guides in lieu of Girl Scouts) by taking orders in the Fall months, then distributing them in March.  I have vivid memories of schlepping through snow banks with a  brown card board box with handles that always seemed to disintegrated after the first two blocks in my neighborhood,  distributing the cookies and  collecting promised money.

In Canada, back then, we only sold  vanilla and chocolate  wafer cookies with a similar flavor icing filling.  The cookie had the trefoil  embossed on the top of each.   We did not have the wide selection of flavors which exist today.  Which are your favorite  flavors?

Mrs. Potwin promises not to nibble. Or even open……..maybe…….

While I am a librarian , I am a reading cheerleader. The purpose of this library blog is to better promote reading and information literacy to community. I love books, reading to my son, properly placed apostrophes, canoeing, locating the nearest Starbucks, cheering the Montreal Canadians, and Cherry Garcia ice cream.
