Today has been a day of adjusting to the new normal, in the post Newtown, Connecticut world we teach in. With patience and perseverance, we will adapt to the notion of locked gates, less access and increased awareness. (Parents, please wear your name tags.)
To give brevity in an exhausting first day back, I present to you a library photo which has caused me to snicker today.

As a librarian, I attest to the DDC classification as true. 306 holds materials relating to matrimony. 326 relating to slavery. As I enter into my diamond wedding year, I am not sure that I disagree with the image. Mr. Potwin might have something to say on the matter.

While I am a librarian , I am a reading cheerleader. The purpose of this library blog is to better promote reading and information literacy to community. I love books, reading to my son, properly placed apostrophes, canoeing, locating the nearest Starbucks, cheering the Montreal Canadians, and Cherry Garcia ice cream.
