Welcome to a librarian's online musings on libraries, literature and information media.

Getting ready for the 12-13 school year….

One of the many things I do to prepare for a new school year is to display the many lovely post cards I receive from our students on their world wide travels. This year, the postman delivered a number from England, Slovakia, Italy, Australia, Switzerland and France. I also received a number from here in America: Michigan, Maine, Florida and Hawaii.

A handful of emailed photos arrived as well, including Kira sitting on one of the ducklings in the Boston Park, a reference to Make Way for Ducklings, one of our library reading books.

Of course, I was tickled to receive an emailed photo from Canada, the frontage of a Tim Horton’s doughnut shoppe!
Welcome back, my friends!

While I am a librarian , I am a reading cheerleader. The purpose of this library blog is to better promote reading and information literacy to community. I love books, reading to my son, properly placed apostrophes, canoeing, locating the nearest Starbucks, cheering the Montreal Canadians, and Cherry Garcia ice cream.
